In the hilly landscape of South Limburg, you will find the 14-person holiday home called La Colline, French for The Hill. This holiday home is the perfect place to unwind, find inspiration and let go of all your stress. It is a true haven of peace that will make you dream again.
Then and now
At the beginning of the 20th century, there were two huge cowsheds on the location of holiday home La Colline. These stables belonged to the Gut Linde farm, which was named after the gigantic, centuries-old lime tree that adorned the 9-hectare site. In 2006, the farm was sold and divided among the three current owners. The front stable was completely restored and the rear stable was demolished and rebuilt. The renovation involved working with natural materials and ecological systems wherever possible. The final result is impressive. In La Colline you can still find many authentic elements, like the thick walls of natural stone and the large granary with wooden beams.
Let's take a look inside
You enter the house in the large open hall, where you can play piano and table football. In the hall, you will also find bins filled with children's toys. Walk through to the colourful living space which offers a lot of space and light. Thanks to the 13-metre-long glass wall, you will have a beautiful panoramic view of the rolling hills and fruit trees. On the left-hand side of the living space, you will find the sitting area, furnished with designer chairs, colourful sofas, piles of magazines, books and a restored wood-burning stove. In addition, the sitting area is decorated with paintings of all shapes and sizes.
In the middle of the living space there is a dining area. The oval dining table invites you to enjoy an extensive dinner together with your friends or family. Such an extensive dinner can be prepared in the Italian designer kitchen which is equipped with all modern conveniences including a dishwasher, 4-burner ceramic hob, convection oven, big fridge-freezer, kettle and coffee machine. There is also a small stock of fresh coffee beans, so that you can enjoy a cup of delicious coffee upon arrival.
On both sides of the living space there is a passage to the first double bedroom. This bedroom with ensuite bathroom is very grand. Grand is the large double bed; grand is the magnificent view and grand are the design bath and the spacious walk-in shower. The next double bedroom, which can be found at the front of the house, has its own bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. On the first floor you will find the remaining bedrooms: two spacious double bedrooms and one large quad bedroom. The double rooms have a shared bathroom with a walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet. The quad room has a private bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. There is also a cot and a highchair available.
There are five bedrooms in total and twelve beddings. Two extra foldable beds can be arranged and set in one bedroom or the other, according to your preferences.
