This old farmhouse is a gem of holiday home, just a few kilometres from one of the most stunning villages in Wallonia. Let’s take a look around and see for ourselves just how charming it is.
History of the house
This former farmstead has seen several generations of the owner’s family grow up here over the decades. The gîte has been completely renovated to bring in more light and accentuate its architecture. The rustic blends beautifully with the contemporary here, making it the perfect place to stay.
Inside
This highly spacious gîte offers an outstanding level of comfort. The large kitchen has everything you need to whip up aperitifs to sip on the terrace or cook a hearty meal after a long walk in the surrounding countryside! The cosy living room provides an inviting place to relax as you take in the breathtaking views of the Belgian countryside. It also offers direct access to the terrace. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, each with their own superb bathroom area that open up to the bedrooms.
And if you want to take your bikes with you, you can keep them in the adjoining closed room.
Outside
The gîte is located at the bottom of a lane, in a very quiet residential area. It enjoys a panoramic view of a green and hilly landscape, which you can fully appreciate from the terrace and garden. The farmhouse is an ideal base for walks – you can even reach the Val-Dieu Abbey or the Gileppe Dam!
Nearby
The historic town of Limbourg is just 5 kilometres away. Renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, it’s easy to see why. With its cobbled alleyways, historic buildings, and medieval square, this ancient fortress is a treasure trove not to be missed. The town is also home to great restaurants and cafés. But if it’s shopping you had in mind, you can easily reach Liège, Maastricht, and Aachen by motorway.
