Holiday homes in South Limburg
Holiday homes in North and Central Limburg
Just a stone's throw from the vibrant city of Maastricht, you can hike for hours and enjoy complete silence!
Sunken lanes, impressive distant views, wide open meadows and, of course, the beautiful hills that, in the Netherlands, can only be found in Limburg.
Hike from your holiday home
When you're on holiday in Limburg, it’s time to get your hiking boots on and hit the trails and lanes!
Whether you want to go for a short stroll or a long hike, hundreds of walking trails await. You can enjoy walks in the open countryside straight from the front door of many of our holiday properties. There's no better way to enjoy nature!
The Stichting het Limburgs Landschap foundation and the Natuurmonumenten association have created the most breathtaking nature reserves for the public, so that you too can enjoy the unique flora and fauna.
Picnicking in the countryside
Our holiday homes in Limburg offer the perfect escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life. Relax and get back to the simple pleasures...
Take a wicker basket and a big plaid rug with you to one of our holiday properties.
No need to plan any expensive excursions or queue for hours for a tourist attraction. Just let nature be your host on a day out.
Fill the wicker basket with delicious bread rolls, some fresh fruit, a thermos of hot coffee and, for the ultimate relaxed feeling, a chilled bottle of Cava, and head out! Once you’ve earned a break, spread your rug out on a hillside or in the middle of wide open moorland,
and sit and relax with a steaming cup of coffee; you’ll feel on top of the world!
Wander around the boutiques in Maastricht
We're not all countryside types, of course; some of us thrive on the bustling atmosphere of a city, with lots of pavement cafés and lovely boutiques
Shopping in Maastricht
If you love shopping, a visit to Maastricht is a must! The beautiful old city centre, with its wide shopping streets such as Bredestraat and lots of little side streets such as Stokstraat and Rechtstraat, is the ultimate shopping destination.
The shopping district was expanded a few years ago with the Mosa Forum, an architectural gem. Here, Maastricht's market square proves that the old can sit in perfect harmony alongside the new. From the historic city centre, cross the Servaasbrug over the Meuse to Wyck, a vibrant district with trendy shops and plenty of restaurants. And if your shopping day is over too fast, you’ll have to return on Thursday to take advantage of the evening shopping.
Design Outlet Roermond
The Design Outlet in Roermond is a shopping area that is surely on the wish list of every committed shopaholic. Here, you’ll find a host of designer brands in a beautifully designed shopping village.
And as the name implies, you’ll always enjoy a discount and score a brilliant buy!
Historic centre of Venlo
When you think of shopping in Limburg, Venlo might not spring to mind. Yet the historic city centre has undergone a real transformation in recent years.
This small city on the Meuse has always had cosy little shopping streets, such as Jodenstraat and Klaasstraat. Then there's the big shopping street, Vleesstraat, where the famous chains have their stores. You can have lunch and drink coffee on one of several squares. And at the end of a day's shopping, you absolutely must go and take a look at Maasboulevard, a most un-Dutch area by the Meuse which is the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by!
Enjoy traditional local cuisine from your holiday home in Limburg
The real Limburg is a feast for the palate as well as the eyes.
You may already be familiar with the famous Limburg pies, but there are plenty more regional dishes that are a source of local pride.
There's no shortage of restaurants and cafés! In one of the many restaurants, you can tuck into local delicacies such as Limburgs Zuurvlees (sour meat, a tangy meat stew), blood sausage with apples and syrup, or konijn in het zuur (seasoned rabbit leg cooked in butter and spices).
These dishes go perfectly with a chilled glass of local beer, such as Gulpener beer, Brand beer, or Ridder beer, or an exquisite Limburg-grown wine.
Active holiday in Limburg
Besides relaxing and eating well, Limburg is great for an active holiday.
Cycling from one of our holiday homes in Limburg
Limburg is famous for the Amstel Gold Race and Limburgs Mooiste, two annual cycling race events which attract people from far and wide.
However, the region is very popular with cyclists all year round. It boasts mile upon mile of mountain bike routes. For serious cyclists, the most famous ‘calf biters’ are the Cauberg, the Keutenberg, and the Eyserbosweg.
If the hills of South Limburg are a tad too challenging for you, there are some stunning tours to be done in the slightly flatter North and Central Limburg, along the Maasplassen and over the many heathland and forest areas.
Water sports on the Meuse
The Meuse winds its way ribbon-like through the whole of Limburg,
making this corner of the Netherlands a prime holiday destination for water sports enthusiasts. A number of Beaujean's holiday homes in Limburg are situated a stone's throw from the Meuse.
Why not enjoy a day on the Meuse in Maastricht, canoeing, rowing, water skiing or cruising.
The Maasplassen, near Roermond, form the Netherlands’ largest contiguous water sports area. Covering an area of 3000 hectares, there really is something for everyone here. There are a number of marinas and beautiful fishing spots.
Whether you're a nature lover or enjoy the vibrant city life; whether you want to try out lots of restaurants or simply enjoy a barbecue with friends and family, here at Beaujean Vacances we are happy to advise you, and have lots of beautiful holiday homes in Limburg to tempt you.
