The 13-person holiday home ‘t Achterhuys is located in the beautiful Rozendaal nature reserve. ‘T Voorhuys is part of an ancient farmhouse called ‘de Heerenhof’. It was completely restored and rebuilt in 2008 by ‘Stichting het Limburgs Landschap’, a foundation that protects Limburg’s natural heritage and monuments. The former living quarters are now the holiday home ‘t Voorhuys, and the old barn has been transformed into the holiday home ‘t Achterhuys.
Let's take a look inside
You enter the living room and cosy sitting area through the front door. The entire ground floor is finished in clay plaster, and the floor has been laid with antique, red tiles, giving the house a warm and welcoming feel. A passage leads onto the large, fully equipped kitchen-diner with dishwasher, 5-ring gas hob, large oven, microwave, fridge with freezer, coffee machine, and kettle. The long, wooden dining table is the perfect place for a dinner with friends and family. In addition, a cosy sitting area has been created next to the wood-burning stove. When the weather is nice, open the garden doors and enjoy the sun and the sounds of nature on the terrace.
One of the bedrooms (a double) is located on the ground floor and has an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. On the upper floor are the four other bedrooms: two double rooms, one triple room, and one quadruple room. All bedrooms have luxury single box-spring beds, and the beds are comfortably nestled between the beams. The upper floor also has a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.
Outdoor space
Heerenhof - ‘t Voorhuys has a private garden and terrace located on the left side of the building, offering fantastic views over the edge of the forest. The farm also a concrete table tennis table and a play area for the children.
The area
We definitely recommend exploring the beautiful surroundings. The holiday home is located at the edge of the forest, in the 280-hectare nature reserve Rozendaal – a varied landscape that hikers are sure to love. Explore a world of deciduous and coniferous forests, avenues of ancient trees, and colourful fields full of bright-red poppies, cornflowers, and camomile. You could also take a walk to the ruins of Kasteel Montfort (Montfort castle).
Larger group?
If you are looking to stay with a larger group, we recommend booking ‘t Achterhuys in combination with ‘t Voorhuys. Together, these residences can sleep 26 guests. The dining area at ‘t Voorhuys is large enough for all of you to dine together.
Due to its location on Rozendaal Estate, this venue is not suitable for parties and/or youth groups.
