Philomenahoeve is a grand, authentic farmhouse where you are guaranteed to experience that ultimate holiday feeling. This former miner’s farmhouse, located in the quiet little village of Nederweert, is situated on the Philomenahoeve Estate. This 15-hectare estate features a flower meadow, woodland, fruit trees, a small lake, a real sheep pen and of course the farm. The right-hand part of the farm is home to its proud owners, Flip and Wendy. The left-hand part has been completely restored and since 2016 has served as this beautiful holiday home.
Let’s take a look inside
This holiday home has a spacious, open-plan living area with high ceilings and large windows that let in a lot of natural light. There is a cosy seating area by the open fireplace and a large, wooden dining table in front of the window. Prepare a delicious breakfast or dinner in the well-equipped, open-plan kitchen with a large kitchen island, 5-ring gas hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, coffee machine, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, kettle, and dishwasher. The owners would be happy to provide you with fresh eggs in the morning.
Holiday home Philomenahoeve has five attractive bedrooms and two luxury bathrooms. On the ground floor you will find two of the double bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with double washbasin, walk-in shower and bathtub. Upstairs are two more double bedrooms, a children's room with two single beds and a bathroom with double sink, shower and toilet. Also on the upper floor you’ll find a multifunctional room that can be used, for example, as a meeting room, recreation room or as a playroom for the children.
Outdoor space
Our favourite spot at this holiday home is definitely the large, covered terrace. In this sheltered spot you can enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful countryside views all day long. You can also use the enclosed private garden with picnic table and loungers, and you have access to the entire estate. Flip and Wendy have put their heart and soul into this estate. Among other things, they restored the small lake that had disappeared, and have given the sheep a home again. They even completely rebuilt the 150-year-old sheep pen. In September, there is even an opportunity to view burbling deer in the area nearby!
