In the picturesque little hamlet of Sint Geertruid you will find this stylish 16-person holiday home called Heppienest. The farmhouse is a cosy retreat where you’ll instantly feel right at home.
Then and now
Where this holiday home now stands, there used to be stables with cows, chickens and pigs. These stables were part of the farmland belonging to Paul, Nicole and their two daughters. A while ago now, the stables were demolished. The old building materials of the stables were then reused for the construction of the Heppienest. For example, wooden beams have been incorporated into the kitchen bar, the old feed covers have been transformed into a dining table top and the old ceiling beams have been reworked into the steps. These are just some of the many elements of farm life that you’ll see coming through in this modern holiday home.
Let’s take a look inside
As usual in Limburg, you enter the house through the back door. You’ll then find yourself in the living area, which gives you a warm welcome with its light colours and natural materials.
