This 4-person holiday home ‘Le Pigeon’ is located on the outskirts of bustling Valkenburg aan de Geul, in the small village of IJzeren. This is the perfect base for a whole host of activities: the home is fully equipped for you to completely unwind, it’s located near a hiking area, and it’s at the centre of several cycling routes. The home is built of marlstone and was recently completely renovated. Mark and Stefanie are the proud owners of Le Pigeon and will make sure to give you a warm welcome!
Fun fact: Le Pigeon (French for ‘pigeon’) is named after Stefanie’s uncle Nonk Sjef, who lived in the house and kept carrier pigeons.
Indoors
Exuding cosiness and luxury, Le Pigeon has been furnished with care – which you’ll feel as soon as you enter the home via the hall. The warm colour on the walls combined with the rustic decor in the living space completes the welcoming look and feel. The living area features a cosy seating area with a smart TV. This space also houses the well-equipped kitchen and dining area. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, combination microwave, both a filter coffee and a Nespresso coffee machine, an orange juicer, and a four-zone induction hob. Just imagine it! A nice cup of coffee in the morning, a fresh orange juice, and an egg... all the ingredients to make it a perfect day in the beautiful south of the country.
Upstairs, you’ll find the first double bedroom with a comfortable king-size boxspring bed, a luxurious freestanding bathtub, and ensuite bathroom. This bathroom has a washbasin, walk-in rain shower, and toilet.
Another floor up, you’ll find the other double bedroom with a queen-size bed, ensuite bathroom with walk-in rain shower, sink and separate toilet.
Outdoors
The holiday home is located in a quiet residential area adjacent to many hiking and cycling paths. The bench outside is the ideal spot to unwind after a brisk walk or bike ride.
Surrounding area
There are various award-winning walking and cycling trails around the home, making it the perfect base for exploring the Heuvelland region. Do you prefer shopping or relaxing at a café or pub? In just 5 minutes by car, you can reach the gorgeous Valkenburg with all its restaurants, cafés, and shops, rightfully known as the beating heart of the Heuvelland region. Maastricht is also a stone’s throw away, so don’t forget to visit this beautiful city too!
