The 4-person holiday home Driesenhof has plenty of character and is the perfect place for escaping everyday life. Located on a dirt road between the picturesque villages of Teuven and Sippenaeken, this holiday home offers plenty of peace and quiet, privacy and space. Furthermore, the house is equipped with all luxury conveniences.
Then and now
In 2002, Paul and Marjon's interest was aroused by the following advertisement:
‘Traditional half-timbered farmhouse in the Belgian Voer Region. At a unique location in the Bovenste Bos forest, just across the border in Belgium, in a protected area. Farmhouse with stables on 4,039 m2 plot. For those who love peace and quiet, solitude, gardening, and hiking. Maastricht, Heerlen, Liège, and Aachen nearby.’
When Marjon and Paul went to see the farm, they were immediately impressed. They then embarked on a lengthy reconstruction and restoration project of a listed building, using ecological materials as much as possible and leaving as many original features intact as they could. The barn with stables was converted into their private residence, and the half-timbered house was turned into a beautiful guesthouse.
Let's take a look inside
After entering holiday home Driesenhof, you will find yourself in a small hallway with staircase. To the right of this hallway is the living room, which has a very special atmosphere thanks to its well-stocked bookcase, red chairs and wood-burning stove. Choose an interesting book and take a seat on the couch by the crackling fire. To the left of the hallway is the kitchen and the second living room (with TV). The country-style kitchen is equipped with a 5-burner gas hob, dishwasher, small oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, Nespresso machine, regular coffee machine, kettle, toaster and hand blender. Everything is present to prepare a delicious meal. Enjoy this meal all together at the round dining table. When you go upstairs, you will find two attractive bedrooms, one luxurious bathroom and one separate toilet. The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, toilet and a lovely steam shower for two.
Outdoor space
The accommodation also has a fantastic outdoor area! You have access to a lovely garden where you can always find a sunny spot. In summer, the orchard is a wonderful place to pick different kinds of fruit. Driesenhof itself is located in a gorgeous natural environment that is well worth exploring on foot or by bicycle. During your trips through the woods and rolling meadows, you will regularly cross the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.
